On behalf of the Hibernian Supporters Association I would like to put on record my thanks to Leeann Dempster for her work as Chief Executive at Hibernian Football Club.
As all our members will know, Leeann joined the football club at one of our lowest points. Her hard work, dedication and imagination helped turn things round both and off the pitch.
The highest point, of course, came on that day in May when Hibs lifted the Scottish Cup for the first time in 114 years. But under Leeann’s stewardship we also returned to the top flight and got the chance to enjoy European football again.
Leeann also helped myself and my fellow Trustees in our stated aim of improving relations between the supporters association and the football club.
As part of that it was an honour for us to be involved in the hugely successful Perservered Tour. It was an honour to say that both Leeann and the Scottish Cup itself became regular visitors to Sunnyside.
We wish Leeann and her family all the best in the future. It is a testament to her work that she leaves Easter Road a very different place to the one she joined in 2014.
And, Leeann, as a member of our “Legends Branch” there will always be a very warm welcome waiting for you at Sunnyside.
